Short Bio
He is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (FCPyS), UNAM. His research interests include Political and Legal Sociology, Sociological Theory, and Methodology in Social Sciences. Some of his most recent publications include: Ideas to Continue the 4T (The Fourth Transformation), a publication in which he contributes a chapter on the primacy of the public sector in the Fourth Transformation, and Violence and Insecurity: Perception and Risks of Mexican Society, a book published under his direction. At the FCPyS, he has held positions such as Secretary General, Head of the Professional Studies Division, and Coordinator of the Sociology program. In public administration, he served as Director General of Ecology and Sustainable Development in Tlalpan and was recently Coordinator of Special Projects at the Mexico City Government Office.
He currently serves as Head of the Cross-Cutting Policy Unit of the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI), where, among other things, he coordinates the ECOS National Network.

Es Profesor Titular Definitivo de la Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales (FCPyS), UNAM. Entre sus líneas de investigación destacan: Sociología política y jurídica, Teoría sociológica y Metodología en ciencias sociales. Algunas de sus publicaciones más recientes son: Ideas para continuar la 4T, publicación en la que participa con un capítulo sobre la primacía de lo público en la Cuarta Transformación. Violencia e inseguridad: percepción y riesgos de la sociedad mexicana, libro publicado bajo su coordinación. En la Facultad ha ocupado cargos como Secretario General, Jefe de la División de Estudios Profesionales y Coordinador de la carrera de Sociología. En la administración pública se desempeñó como Director General de Ecología y Desarrollo Sustentable en Tlalpan y recientemente fue Coordinador de Proyectos Especiales en la Jefatura de Gobierno de la Ciudad de México.
Actualmente se desempeña como Titular de la Unidad de Política Transversal de la Secretaría de Ciencia, Humanidades, Tecnología e Innovación, en donde, entre otras cosas coordina la Red Nacional ECOS.
Keynote Speaker Prof. Rolando A. Flores

Short Bio
Rolando A. Flores is the Dean and Chief Administrative Officer in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, NM. He holds a doctorate in grain science and industry with one specialization in international trade from Kansas State University, a master’s degree in agricultural engineering from Iowa State University and bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Universidad de Costa Rica. Flores is a Water for Food Daugherty Global Institute Faculty Global Fellow and an active member of the Institute of Food Technologists, the American Association of Cereal Chemist International and the American Society for Agricultural and Biological Engineers. Prior to coming to NMSU Rolando was Professor and Department Head, Department of Food Science and Technology; and Director of the Food Processing Center, University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
He has an extensive list of scientific publications and invited presentations in the areas of expertise that cover: value-added development from agricultural products and byproducts, simulation and optimization of processing systems, distribution of pathogenic contamination in food processing systems, and water reconditioning and reuse in the food processing industry.
